By becoming a member of Celbridge Town AFC, I/We agree to abide by the clubs codes of conduct and polices outlined below.

Code of Conduct for Players

You should always:

• Always turn up on time for matches and training.

• Treat all group or team members and your Sports Leaders with respect.

• Act fairly and responsibly at all times, do your best.

• Respect other group or team members.

• Listen to advice given and ask questions if you don’t understand.

• Enjoy playing and training with Celbridge Town AFC.

• Respect opponents and be gracious in defeat.

• Abide by the rules as set out by the group or team you are with.

• Support and assist where appropriate with the running of your group.

• Pack your own gear bag and arrive for training and matches with the proper gear and boots, to include water, medication, suncream – it’s your bag so carry it yourself and be responsible for it.

• Let the manager know – as soon as possible – if you are injured or sick.

You should never:

• Cheat or seek to gain an unfair advantage.

• Intimidate, threaten or use violence.

• Use physical contact that is not welcome.

• Shout at, use foul or inappropriate language or argue unreasonably.

• Cause harm to or damage property.

• Bully or threaten online or offline.

• Tell lies, spread or circulate rumours online or offline.

• Take banned substances or consume alcohol or recreational drugs.

Code of Conduct for Parents

• Always show respect for all players, opponents, managers, coaches and

officials.

• Have realistic expectations for your player and don’t put them under undue pressure.

• Focus on effort rather than results and emphasise skill development and

practice over winning,

• De-emphasise games and competition in the lower age groups.

• Accept disappointment, praise good work and refrain from criticising.

• Ensure that your player arrives on time for training and matches and that safe arrangements are in place for getting them to and from venues.

• Be mindful of pick up times after training. Coaches are responsible for

ensuring pitch is ready for the next training session and cannot do this if

children are not picked up on time.

• Leave coaching to the coaches.

• Respect the managers / coaches decisions.

• Encourage your child to learn the rules & play within them.

• Discourage unfair play & arguing with officials.

• Never use foul or inappropriate language.

• Assist when asked.

• Support the club’s fund-raising activities where possible.

• If your player requires hospital treatment a parent must attend.

Code of Conduct for Managers/Coaches

• Managers/Coaches will show respect for all players and officials and lead by example.

• Endeavour to be fully prepared for coaching sessions and matches.

• Ensure a safe environment for learning team behaviour and developing skills.

• Managers/Coaches to keep themselves up to date with new ideas on coaching and development and be familiar with the Sporting Directors’ programme of games based training.

• Encourage each player in terms of self-discipline, good behaviour and punctuality.

• Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and the experience of those taking part.

• Be self-critical and not afraid to seek assistance from the Coach network.

• Be familiar with Celbridge Town AFC Child Protection Guidelines and link in with the Children’s officer if you have any concerns

• Liaise with parents but do not share confidential information with them regarding players other than their own.
• Ensure that all players are aware that all forms of bullying will not be tolerated.

• Be open positive and encouraging with feedback

• Managers/Coaches must always display high standards of behaviour and appearance.

• Never use foul or inappropriate language.

• Read, and put into practice all club policies and procedures, ask if you feel you need more information or explanation.

• Promote Enjoyment and fun

This includes sexual or racial harassment or other discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal. The Club will work to ensure that such behaviour is met with appropriate action in whatever context it occurs.

Celbridge Town AFC is committed to taking positive action where inequalities exist and to the development of a programme of ongoing training and awareness events and activities in order to promote the eradication of discrimination and promote equality in football.

The Club is committed to a policy of equal treatment of all members and requires all members to abide by and adhere to the policies and the requirements of the relevant legislation
